Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is transmitted directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained so it can be answered. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server automatically receives technical information about the visit:
- Page-view dates and times
- Device type and operating system
- IP address associated with the device
- Referring site, when one is supplied
- Browser name and version
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. They and analytics services help measure traffic, popular pages, and common exit points in aggregate. A browser can reject cookies, although doing so may change how some features behave.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
East Hartford Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It explains how to reach East Hartford Police, the Connecticut Superior Court, DESPP's State Police Bureau of Identification, and the Connecticut Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not compiled into a third-party record or consumer report, and the site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms govern any information submitted to them, and they decide how long it is retained or with whom it is shared. Review the provider's policy before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to East Hartford pages, Connecticut court or agency portals, legal-aid resources, and outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to track activity across websites and tailor advertisements.

Connecticut's Freedom of Information Act, §§1-200 through 1-259, governs access to public-agency records and does not convert this private site into a public agency. Criminal-history definitions and dissemination rules appear in §§54-142g through 54-142m. Subject to applicable limits, a user may:
- Request access to personal data on file
- Ask for inaccurate data to be corrected
- Seek deletion when the law permits it
- Opt out of covered forms of processing
